About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Medical Staff Coordinator and the indirect supervision of the Vice President of Physician Services, the Credentialing Specialist provides support for the initial appointment and reappointment credentialing and privileging activities and processes in accordance with the medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations and medical staff policies so as to ensure that only qualified practitioners provide care at OakBend Medical Center.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent; relevant experience in lieu of High School Diploma/GED education will be considered.
  • Three (3) years of experience in the performance of responsible secretarial/stenographic and cleriical work.
  • Experience with computer system, word processing, database and spreadsheet.
  • The knowledge ad skills to perform duties using word processing, database and spreadsheets in the computer.
  • Well-developed oral, written, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to perfom secretarial and clerical duties with speed and accuracy without immediate and constant supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification by the Certification Commission of National Association of Medical Staff Services as a Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) preferred.
