Requirements

  • Minimum of five years’ clerical experience, preferably in a Human Service Organization.
  • Office machines such as fax, copier and printer, HIPAA, DOL and FCRA Laws, and Microsoft Office.
  • Accuracy, strong follow-up and data entry skills are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Human Resources experiences highly preferred.
  • Medical terminology preferred.
  • OPWDD/DOH experience a plus.
  • ADP knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the Medical Credentialing Specialist by ensuring all pre-employment and annual medical requirements are met for all staff.
  • Enter medical into Excel and the ADP systems with the ability to run frequent audit reports.
  • Track and maintain annual medical and ensure compliance through various regulators.
  • Ensure medical paperwork submitted meets regulatory requirements.
  • Track annual NYS Sexual Harassment Training for CDIS, Many Hearts, Veteran Care Attendance, Volunteers and Board Members. Send reminder letters, make appropriate follow-up calls, and create mail-merge suspension letters and termination letters for non-compliance.
  • Generate reminder letters to staff and participants for upcoming medical due. Ensure staff are placed on medical suspension and do not work out of compliance.
  • Conduct pre-and-post-employment background checks, Justice Center and all required fingerprinting, sexual offender, child registry, DOH, UAS, Medicaid and License checks. Cross reference with application and other pre-employment checks.
  • Assist with the New York State DMV’s LENS Notification System. Contacting employees and their supervisors to inform them of the notification if their license becomes suspended, revoked, has a change in class or status, accidents, etc.
  • Remain up to date with the changing legislation and regulations through the Justice Center (OPWDD and OMH) and the Department of Health (DOH) to ensure the proper requirements are met.
