About The Position

The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for credentialing, re-credentialing, and privileging healthcare providers so they can provide patient care at the Hospital. The role maintains accurate provider information in credentialing databases and online systems, monitors license and certification renewals, completes applications and follow-ups, keeps practice addresses current with relevant entities, and maintains required provider documentation. The specialist also performs other duties assigned by the coordinator.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Credentialing Specialist.

Responsibilities

• Manage credentialing, re-credentialing, and privileging processes for healthcare providers who provide patient care at the Hospital.
• Maintain timely and accurate provider data in credentialing databases and online systems, including tracking renewals of licenses and certifications.
• Complete and maintain current, accurate provider information.
• Complete provider credentialing and re-credentialing applications and conduct monitoring and follow-ups as needed.
• Ensure practice addresses are current with all entities.
• Maintain copies of current licenses, DEA certificates, malpractice coverage, and other required documentation.
• Perform other duties assigned by the coordinator.
