About The Position

Oula is seeking a Credentialing Coordinator to manage the process of getting clinicians credentialed and ready to care for patients at its hospital partners. The role oversees credentialing and privileging across multiple health systems, each with distinct requirements, and helps build repeatable processes as Oula expands into new markets. The position is full-time, hourly, non-exempt, and hybrid, based in Brooklyn, NY. Key partners include Revenue Cycle and Clinical Operations. The coordinator maintains provider credentialing pipelines, guides clinicians through applications and documentation, coordinates with hospital partners and internal teams, and escalates issues that could put start dates at risk. The role also partners with Revenue Cycle on payer enrollment, manages renewals and expiring credentials, maps credentialing requirements for new market launches, and supports People Operations with hiring coordination and process improvements as capacity allows.

Requirements

  • 2 to 3+ years of credentialing experience at the coordinator or specialist level, ideally in a hospital, medical group, or multisite practice.
  • Experience with hospital privileging.
  • Working knowledge of credentialing standards, primary source verification, and CAQH.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Direct credentialing experience and understanding of how hospital privileging and payer enrollment fit together.
  • Ability to manage credentialing pipelines, identify bottlenecks, and address them proactively.
  • Ability to shift among partners with different processes while keeping work organized.
  • Ability to remain composed and respond to urgent requests.
  • Ability to work through formal channels and direct outreach in a growing organization, while maintaining strong partner relationships.
  • Willingness to own mistakes, resolve them quickly, and seek feedback.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to delegated credentialing or payer enrollment.
  • Experience in OB/GYN, midwifery, or women’s health.
  • NAMSS certification (CPCS).
  • Comfort with Asana or similar project tracking tools.
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and proactive, with a continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Own credentialing and privileging for new clinicians across multiple health system partners, including delegated arrangements.
  • Learn and document each health system partner’s requirements, timelines, and contacts, and build an adaptable playbook for new markets.
  • Manage a live pipeline for each provider, tracking submitted and outstanding items, bottlenecks, and impacts on start dates.
  • Guide clinicians through applications and stage documents such as licenses, NPI, board certifications, and case logs before they are due.
  • Follow up with providers, medical staff offices, and internal partners, and escalate early when a start date is at risk.
  • Respond promptly to urgent requests from hospital partners.
  • Partner with Revenue Cycle on payer enrollment, track status after hospital approval, and provide Clinical Operations Managers with clear handoffs about which patients new providers can see and when.
  • Manage reappointments, renewals, and expiring credentials for existing providers, including licenses, DEA registrations, and malpractice coverage.
  • Map credentialing requirements and timelines early in each new market launch so start dates are realistic.
  • Support People Operations with new-hire coordination, documentation, and process improvement as capacity allows.
