About The Position

Join the MercyOne Family! We are looking to hire a Credentialing Coordinator, Medical Staff Services. As a Coordinator you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and compliant operation of the medical staff services department. This position involves aiding with the credentialing and privileging process for all medical staff, advanced practice practitioners, and allied health professionals for multiple MercyOne hospitals, maintaining strict adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards, and fostering positive relationships between the medical staff, hospital administration, and health system credentials verification organization. Coordinates medical staff services functions for an assigned group of MercyOne hospitals and affiliated critical access hospitals. Ensures credentialing and privileging compliance with all relevant regulations, including medical staff bylaws, Joint Commission, NCQA, CMS, and state and federal regulations. Maintains the credentialing database with accurate and current provider information. Collects appropriate privileging documentation for the requested privileges. Facilitates and documents any required education for the requested privileges, such as sedation testing. Prepares files and routes them to the appropriate clinical leaders for credentials review and approval. Provides administrative support and guidance to medical staff leadership, committees, and departments. Maintains a collaborative relationship with the health system credentials verification organization (CVO).

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year in a medical staff services or credentialing role.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree preferred.
  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) preferred.
