McFarland Clinic is currently accepting application for Credentialing Coordinator for its Ames office. Candidates should be service-oriented, a team player, and be able to provide extraordinary care, every day to our patients. Responsibilities include: Process credentialing and re-credentialing applications for all providers including physicians, mid-level providers, and physical/occupational therapists. Works closely with providers, insurance companies, and hospitals to ensure timely completion of applications. Monitors completion of credentialing and re-credentialing process. Communicates status of credentialing process to clinical and billing departments as necessary. Monitor accuracy of credentialing information on insurance company provider directories and other sources. Assist Business Services with claims resolution related to credentialing issues as necessary. Monitors expiration dates of state licenses, DEA, state, pharmacy for providers and other needed certificates. Maintain reminder system for providers as expiration dates approach. Respond to questions from providers, insurance companies, and hospitals regarding credentialing, licensure, and malpractice insurance. Develop and maintain effective credentialing contacts at insurance companies, hospitals, and regulatory agencies such as the Iowa Board of Medicine. Maintain a record of CME's for providers upon request.
