About The Position

West Chelsea Veterinary is a full-service veterinary hospital that has been a trusted part of Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood since 1997. We offer wellness care, surgery, dentistry, acupuncture, and pain management, all delivered by a team that holds itself to an extremely high standard of care. We are looking for a Full- Time Credentialed Veterinary Technician who is ready to put their skills to work in a hospital where what you know and what you can do is truly valued.

Requirements

• 1 to 2 years of experience as a credentialed veterinary technician
• A calm, confident presence with animals and the people who love them
• Strong communication skills with both clients and teammates
• Organized and detail-oriented with a genuine commitment to patient care
• Comfortable in a busy, fast-paced hospital environment
• Eager to keep growing your skills and learning from those around you
• A team-first mindset, someone who pitches in and lifts others up

Responsibilities

• Partner with veterinarians and teammates to deliver exceptional patient care.
• Prepare and monitor patients for surgical and dental procedures.
• Administer treatments, medications, and nursing care as directed by the veterinarian.
• Collect and process laboratory samples, including blood, urine, and fecal tests.
• Obtain diagnostic imaging, including dental radiographs.
• Perform venipuncture and place intravenous catheters.
• Monitor anesthesia and support patients throughout recovery.
• Assist with patient restraint and handling using low-stress techniques.
• Maintain accurate medical records and support client communication.
• Educate pet parents on medications, treatments, preventive care, and post-operative instructions.
• Maintain and prepare medical equipment, treatment areas, and surgical suites.
• Support a compassionate, collaborative, and patient-focused hospital culture.
