About The Position

Chewy Vet Care is seeking a full-time Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join its Healthcare Practice Team. The role supports a veterinary practice designed and equipped to help teams provide patient-centered care, using advanced equipment and purpose-built technology. The technician supports the practice team, delivers veterinary medical care within their skills, and contributes to a positive experience for pets, pet parents, and team members.

The position includes patient care and clinical procedures, supporting team training and inventory management, assisting with technology and pharmacy processes, and following the practice’s policies and standards of care. The role may require weekend work and some travel.

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to complete the Veterinary Technician III skills checklist.
• Strong ability to connect with clients and demonstrate compassion.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, observational, and analytical skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, self-starter environment.
• Ability to meet the listed physical demands, including standing or walking for up to 80% of a shift and frequently lifting up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Successful completion of an accredited veterinary technology program and current licensure are preferred.
• Five or more years of experience as a veterinary technician in practice is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the practice team and provide proficient veterinary medical care while working collaboratively to deliver a positive pet-parent experience.
• Implement practice policies and procedures, use integrated technology, and provide appropriate medical care within the scope of the role.
• Perform Veterinary Technician I and II skills, as well as team member training, inventory management, mentoring, and handling client complaints.
• Provide patient care including blood transfusions, oxygen cage care, cardiac monitoring, dentistry, wound care, catheter placement, and anesthesia monitoring for unstable or high-risk patients.
• Perform duties that involve handling animal bodily fluids and tissues.
• Support team members and contribute positively to their work experiences.
• Follow the practice’s Standard Operating Procedures and Standards of Care.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with team members and keep veterinarians updated in real time on patient status, including patients in the practice, at referral, or receiving home care.
• Serve as a PIMS administrative super-user and help other team members use the technology.
• Handle pharmacy holdings responsibly and maintain controlled substance logs.
• Assist the practice manager with communicating inventory needs.
• Clean workspaces after each patient or patient-lab-sample interaction.
• Participate in self-development courses and required Chewy Vet Care compliance training.
• Perform related duties and assignments as advised by management, including other responsibilities deemed vital within the role’s scope.
• Work weekends and travel when required.
