About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our team. This role is crucial in providing high-quality patient care, supporting veterinarians, and ensuring a positive client experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in veterinary medicine, excellent technical skills, and a passion for animal welfare. You will be involved in all aspects of patient and client care, from initial assessment and treatment to discharge and follow-up, while also contributing to the overall efficiency and cleanliness of the hospital.

Requirements

  • Current CVT, LVT, RVT, or equivalent veterinary technician credential.
  • Minimum 2+ years of clinical veterinary experience as a Veterinary Technician (direct patient care).
  • Strong technical, patient-care, communication, and client-service skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Dependable, team-oriented, and willing to assist across departments based on hospital needs.
  • Commitment to patient safety, compassionate care, professionalism, and continued learning.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain patient histories and assist with patient assessments.
  • Safely restrain and handle patients using low-stress techniques.
  • Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, sample collection, and in-house laboratory testing.
  • Obtain diagnostic radiographs and assist with other diagnostic procedures.
  • Administer medications, vaccines, injections, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
  • Calculate medication dosages and fluid rates accurately.
  • Monitor hospitalized patients and maintain accurate medical records.
  • Prepare and monitor patients for anesthesia, surgery, and recovery.
  • Assist with surgical and dental procedures, including dental radiographs and cleanings as appropriate.
  • Maintain and properly care for medical, surgical, dental, and anesthesia equipment.
  • Communicate veterinarian recommendations, medications, discharge instructions, and follow-up care to clients.
  • Provide appropriate client education and answer questions within the scope of the CVT role.
  • Check clients out, review services, and process payments according to hospital procedures.
  • Forward book recommended appointments before clients leave, including annual exams, boosters, rechecks, chronic-care monitoring, and other recommended follow-up care.
  • Work collaboratively with veterinarians, technicians, assistants, CSRs, and leadership to support efficient hospital flow.
  • Anticipate patient and team needs and assist throughout the hospital as needed.
  • Maintain clean, disinfected, organized, and appropriately stocked exam rooms and patient-care areas.
  • Participate in daily cleaning responsibilities, including treatment areas, kennels, surgery, laboratory, laundry, equipment, and trash.
  • Complete assigned opening and closing responsibilities.
  • Provide CSR/front desk coverage as needed, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, checking clients in and out, processing payments, and assisting with general client communication.
