This position is responsible for conducting training for clinical and non-clinical end users in Epic Systems applications under the direction of a Training Manager or Principal Trainer, who has primary responsibility for the design and development of the training. Training is typically conducted in the classroom as well as in the practice. The trainer is assigned application(s) and is responsible for achieving an in-depth understanding of the software, policies and procedures, and workflows for each application. Responsible for the set up and set down of the training classes they are scheduled to facilitate, including inventorying and distributed participant supplies. Responsible for quality control, including administering a proficiency assessment and class evaluation at the end of each session, and forwarding ideas to improve the effectiveness of the training to the Principal Trainer or Manager. Trainers are members of project teams and participate in discussions regarding building, testing, and maintaining the training environment, as well as the development and maintenance of training materials for the training program. They will support the team in technological competency assessments. In addition to training end-users within the facility, the Epic Trainer will also train additional trainers within the organization, maintain policy/procedure documentation, provide training for new hires, and coordinate training for new software releases and updates. Trainers ensure alignment of all application training activities with cultural and clinical transformation objectives. They identify and manage resistance to change as related to their respective application(s) of responsibility.
