About The Position

The Creative Video & Broadcast Director leads a volunteer team to produce compelling video content and oversee the live broadcast of weekend services. This role manages all aspects of production from cameras, lighting, and set design to editing and post-production for services, social media, and the church website. Projects include testimonies, message bumpers, and promotional videos. The ideal candidate is a creative storyteller with technical expertise, a heart for mentoring volunteers, and the ability to direct live broadcasts with excellence.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2-years’ experience in a live production environment
  • Demonstrated ability recruiting, training, & developing volunteer teams
  • Experience with Multi Site/church production & worship teams
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of color grading workflows and LUTs.
  • Background in cinematography or film production.
  • Strong understanding of live broadcast directing and camera systems (PTZ and cinema cameras).
  • Experience with video switchers (e.g., Blackmagic ATEM, Ross, vMix, TriCaster).
  • Proficiency in video editing software (Final Cut, Adobe Premiere DaVinci Resolve, and After Effects.)
  • Proficient in audio editing: syncing, noise reduction, voice-overs, and mastering.
  • Strong storytelling and narrative pacing through editing.
  • Knowledge of lighting, framing, composition, and visual storytelling.
  • Ability to craft compelling narratives from raw footage and interviews.
  • Strong creative instincts for pacing, emotion, and visual rhythm.
  • Highly organized with ability to manage footage and deadlines.
  • Collaborative and creative, able to solve technical and artistic challenges.
  • Calm under pressure in live production settings.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with motion design, 3D graphics, or AI video tools.

Responsibilities

  • Direct live weekend services (camera switching, cues, transitions, graphics integration).
  • Lead, encourage, and develop camera operators, switcher operators, and broadcast volunteers through 1:1 and group interactions and through Menlo’s leadership pipeline.
  • Ensure consistent broadcast quality (video, lighting, framing, visual continuity).
  • Collaborate with audio, worship, and production teams for seamless services.
  • Develop and maintain broadcast run-of-show processes and documentation.
  • Concept, plan, and produce video content (testimonies, sermon bumpers, promos, social content).
  • Translate message themes and creative briefs into compelling visual stories.
  • Oversee filming, interviews, b-roll capture, and lighting setups.
  • Direct compelling visual content that communicates what God is doing through Menlo.
  • Edit videos using professional tools (e.g., Premiere Pro, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve).
  • Oversee motion graphics, color correction, audio sync, and final delivery.
  • Establish editing workflows, file management, and asset archiving systems.
  • Maintain brand consistency in visual style and pacing.
  • Manage production calendars, scheduling, and location logistics for all shoots.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, creativity, and spiritual alignment.
  • Stay up-to-date on video production and editing techniques and suggest new ways to improve the church's video content.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships by living out our staff values.
