About The Position

Hyperquake is an independent strategy and design studio that builds ambitious brands and experiences. Our Creative Technology team brings ideas to life through interactive experiences, generative design, creative coding, and emerging technologies. We’re looking for a curious, hands-on Creative Technology Intern who loves building things and wants to work at the intersection of design and technology. You’ll collaborate with designers, strategists, and developers to prototype and create interactive experiences for clients across a variety of industries. This is a unique opportunity to help shape how creative technology evolves at Hyperquake. You’ll work on real client projects, learn from experienced creatives and technologists, experiment with emerging AI-powered workflows, and help create interactive brand experiences that make an impact.

Requirements

• Current sophomore or junior pursuing a degree in Creative Technology, Computer Science, Interaction Design, Media Arts, Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience with JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and Git.
• Familiarity with creative coding tools such as p5.js, three.js, TouchDesigner, openFrameworks, or similar.
• Experience with Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud; familiarity with AI tools is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills, curiosity, and willingness to learn.
• A portfolio demonstrating interactive work, creative coding, web development, or technical projects.
• Strong visual design skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with React, physical computing (Arduino, sensors), projection mapping, or real-time graphics.

Responsibilities

• Prototype interactive concepts and experiences from idea to working proof of concept.
• Build web-based experiences using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Create creative coding and generative experiences using tools like p5.js, three.js, WebGL, or similar.
• Support interactive installations, innovation centers, and brand experience projects.
• Collaborate closely with designers to transform ideas into polished digital experiences.
• Explore emerging technologies, including AI, as part of the creative workflow.
• Help pilot new ways of working between design and development through rapid prototyping and experimentation.
