About The Position

HOKALI is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Creative Storytelling Educator to lead an engaging after-school program for students from Transitional Kindergarten (TK) through 8th grade. The educator will help students develop writing, storytelling, creative expression, confidence, and communication skills. HOKALI provides structured lesson plans, while allowing educators to contribute ideas and adapt lessons to their style and expertise. The role includes three hours of online training before the start date covering Concussion Training, Mandated Reporter, and First Aid & CPR. HOKALI Academy offers opportunities for professional growth and development.

Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 3:15 PM–5 PM. Estimated start date: November 2, 2026. Estimated end date: January 21, 2027. Hourly pay rate: $50.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability and willingness to complete three hours of online training before the start date, covering Concussion Training, Mandated Reporter, and First Aid & CPR.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead an engaging after-school Creative Storytelling program for students from TK through 8th grade.
• Ensure student safety and well-being at all times.
• Foster creativity, confidence, self-expression, and communication skills through writing activities.
• Plan and lead creative writing lessons, storytelling exercises, and skill-building activities.
• Adapt instruction to students’ ages, writing levels, learning styles, and interests.
• Encourage students to explore their imagination, develop their own ideas, and express themselves through writing.
• Facilitate positive social interactions, collaboration, and peer feedback.
• Manage student behavior using positive reinforcement and an encouraging approach.
• Maintain accurate attendance and incident records.
• Prepare and organize writing materials and activities, and keep the classroom clean, organized, and safe.
