About The Position

This position will provide Creative and Expressive Arts Services for the patients throughout the hospital. Duties include planning and implementing active treatment groups, documentation of patient’s response to treatment, conducting Rehabilitation Services assessments, Creative/Expressive Arts evaluations upon referral and assisting treatment teams in developing individualized treatment plans. This position may also provide Creative/Expressive Arts activities and/or assist with other special activities as scheduled, may include evenings and weekends.

Requirements

Board certified music therapist through CBMT (Certification Board for Music Therapists) with the MT-BC credential.
Registration with ATCB (Art Therapy Credentialing Board) as an ATR-P, ATR, or ATR-BC.
Registration with DMTCB (Dance Movement Therapy Certification Board) as a R-DMT or BC-DMT.
Registration with IEATA (International Expressive Arts Therapy Association) as a REAT or holds an EXA certificate and working toward registration.

Nice To Haves

Considerable knowledge of creative/expressive arts therapy principles, techniques, and methods and their application to inpatient psychiatric setting.
Ability to conduct creative/expressive arts therapy services to support treatment plan.
Ability to assess, evaluate, and document client progress towards individualized goals and interventions to present to interdisciplinary team meetings.
Ability to integrate a philosophy of creative/expressive arts which is therapeutic in nature into a clinical program.
