About The Position

We’re looking for a Creative Director who leads with both head and heart — someone who believes great creative in healthcare isn’t just compelling, it’s clarifying, empowering, and deeply human. This role is for a strategic thinker and storyteller with a strong foundation in copy, content, and/or brand strategy, who can turn complexity into connection. At MODHealth, we transform regulated, often dense healthcare information into experiences people can understand and act on. As Creative Director, you will set the vision for how our work shows up in the world — ensuring it is innovative, compliant, accessible, and grounded in empathy. You’ll lead a multidisciplinary creative team of writers and designers, shaping ideas from concept through execution while partnering closely with strategy, account, and leadership teams to elevate the work and push thinking forward.

Requirements

  • 10–12+ years of experience in creative roles, with a foundation in copywriting, content strategy, and/or brand strategy
  • Proven experience in a leadership role managing and mentoring multidisciplinary creative teams
  • Deep experience working within healthcare, health tech, wellness, pharmaceutical, or payer/provider environments
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks (HIPAA, CMS, FDA, ACA) and their impact on creative
  • Exceptional portfolio demonstrating the ability to simplify complex healthcare information into clear, compelling creative
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to connect creative work to business goals and audience insights
  • Experience leading integrated campaigns across B2C and B2B audiences
  • Strong presentation and communication skills with senior-level client experience
  • Highly collaborative leadership style with a focus on team development and creative excellence
  • Passion for health and wellness and a commitment to improving how people experience healthcare
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities with clarity and focus

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the creative vision for MODHealth across all accounts and deliverables
  • Oversee development of integrated campaigns across digital, print, brand, and patient/provider communications
  • Bring a strong copy and/or strategy lens to all work — ensuring clarity, compliance, and emotional resonance
  • Lead concepting and storytelling that simplifies complex healthcare topics into human-centered ideas
  • Manage, mentor, and inspire a team of designers and copywriters
  • Set and uphold a high bar for creative quality, consistency, and craft across all outputs
  • Provide clear, actionable feedback that elevates both the work and the team
  • Partner cross-functionally with strategy, account, and project management to align creative with business goals
  • Present creative work to clients and internal stakeholders, articulating strategy and rationale with confidence
  • Ensure all creative adheres to regulatory and compliance standards (HIPAA, CMS, FDA where applicable)
  • Champion best practices in health literacy, accessibility, and inclusive communication
  • Drive innovation by staying ahead of healthcare, wellness, and creative industry trends
  • Advocate for creativity as a tool to improve patient and member experiences
