About The Position

RESPONSIBILITIES Essential Functions Spatial & Environmental Design Provide support for the Creative Director. Accompany and assist the Creative Director during stakeholder and vendor meetings at all areas of the campus. Take detailed notes during meetings, take measurements/photos of projects Assist in the conceptualization and visualization of new exhibit spaces, pop-up installations, and signage. Create renderings, floor plans, or environmental graphic concepts that align with the museum’s brand and storytelling goals. Support the design of "Guest Journey" touchpoints, ensuring a cohesive narrative from the parking lot and throughout the museum. Project Coordination Act as a liaison between the Creative Director and internal stakeholders (Education, Archives, Museum, Marketing, Multimedia, etc.) to ensure project milestones are met. Maintain project trackers for exhibit updates, ensuring assets are delivered on time for print or digital installation. Research décor and materials, provide pricing, availability, stock, etc. Experience Strategy Participate in design charrettes and strategy sessions regarding guest flow and wayfinding. Research trends in museum interaction design and space exploration history to inform future project concepts. Supervisory Responsibilities : Level of Supervision: None Travel Required : No QUALIFICATIONS Required Education Current Student: Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Industrial Design, Architecture, Graphic Design, or Exhibit Design. Required Experience Design Tools: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign). Familiarity with 3D modeling tools (SketchUp). Organization: Strong project management instincts; able to keep track of multiple timelines and details simultaneously. Communication: Ability to articulate design concepts clearly to non-designers and collaborate with a diverse team. Passion: A genuine interest in space exploration, history, science, or museum storytelling.
