About The Position

This position is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and overseeing the activities of creative arts programs and staff training strategies to grow creative arts programming and fee-based classes for the Kroc Center in four priority areas: music/worship, arts, education, and recreation. The Creative Arts Manager will also supervise and provide training to creative arts program staff, ensuring that the mission of The Salvation Army is a top priority in all areas and activities. Assists the Program Director to ensure program operations are in compliance with established departmental policies, National Kroc Standards and procedures and all programs are safe, ensures expectations for classes and client services are set and met, and creative programmatic equipment in the four priority areas are properly maintained. Duties will also include developing programs for the TSARJKCCC based upon ongoing needs assessment, industry trends and business plan.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Music Education, Fine Arts, Performing Arts, or related field.
  • Three (3) years of experience leading creative arts programming, i.e. music, arts, education, or recreation initiatives.
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • CPR/AED/First Aid certification.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
  • Ability to meet attendance requirements.
  • Ability to encompass a comprehensive understanding of music, fine or performing arts, education, and recreation.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize to accomplish work in compliance with quality standards and deadlines.

  • May be required to do minor maintenance on equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and oversee the creative arts programming with emphasis on participant experience, retention and revenue generation through specialized camps, lesson and activities.
  • Plan, develop, and oversee the activities of creative arts programs keeping the four priorities (art, education, recreation, worship) central to the whole of the programming and strategic vision.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships and communication with creative arts programs in the community.
  • Coordinate relationships with leaders of those programs and the Kroc Center.
  • Create an atmosphere of friendliness and security during all program periods, enabling all students to feel welcome and comfortable.
