About The Position

The Packaging Operator is responsible for packaging product to meet customer & company requirements by following SOP’s. This role involves ensuring safety, sanitation, GMP’s, and quality policies are adhered to, setting up and maintaining packaging equipment, and accurately completing all required documentation.

Requirements

Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
Must have good reasoning ability to deal with problems involving variables in standard situations.
Must be able to read, interpret and understand written and oral directions.
Must demonstrate basic math skills and understand weights and measures.
Must be able to verbally communicate, understand, and write in the English language.

Nice To Haves

Previous food packaging experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Understand and follow all Prairie Farms policies, procedures and protocols.
Ensure safety, sanitation, GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices) and quality policies and packaging procedures are followed.
Ensure that packaging and labeling equipment is set up and in a sanitary state.
Immediately notify supervisor of all unsafe conditions or situations.
Stage correct packaging materials for scheduled production.
Prepare packaging material, fill, seal and palletize.
Follow SOP’s for successful operation of CC filling & sealing equipment.
Insure proper package seal integrity by following appropriate SOP.
Notify dept. supervisor of all deviations that could result in product failure to meet required specs.
Insure correct & accurate labeling to meet customer requirements.
Maintain the cream cheese packaging & sealing equipment and environment in an acceptable condition using good housekeeping practices and GMP’s in a safe and effective manner.
Accurately and correctly complete all required documentation.
Other duties as required.
