Underwrites and provides recommendations on traditional commercial loan requests in accordance with MACU and NCUA rules and regulations; participates in team administration functions and all aspects of the CRE lending cycle. This role involves underwriting traditional commercial loans, preparing credit presentations, documenting credit analyses, and making recommendations for credit decisions to the approving authority. The underwriter will prepare timely, concise, and accurate credit recommendations with supervision, including quantitative components, accurate risk rating, and identification/mitigation of risk. The position requires an understanding of underwriting processes per MACU standards, strong written communication skills, and the ability to analyze repayment ability, financial ratios, and perform financial stress testing. The role also includes reviewing credit reports, preparing commitment letters, analyzing commercial real estate appraisals and environmental reports, analyzing commercial leases, assisting with loan closing requirements, reviewing annual financials, and maintaining regular communication with loan officers, management, and team members. The CRE Underwriter will support team members to ensure excellent member service, manage up to three loan requests concurrently, and work collaboratively to achieve team goals. A working knowledge of MACU policies and procedures, and adherence to industry lending regulations are essential. Other duties as assigned.
