•$83,300 - $168,400

About The Position

Old National Bank is hiring a CRE Underwriter to analyze and decision loans with total credit exposure between $0 and $3 million while balancing risk and growth. The role ensures loan structures align with bank lending standards, assigns appropriate asset quality ratings, completes underwriting appropriate to the risk and size of each opportunity, and decisions applications within assigned lending authority in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The underwriter collaborates with Business Bankers, Commercial Segment Relationship Managers, internal support staff, and other colleagues to provide credit expertise and support commercial loan origination and review. The role underwrites new credit requests and renewals, evaluates risk and due diligence, produces accurate credit approval memoranda, and meets applicable quality and productivity standards. It also provides consultative credit support, communicates risks and options, contributes to internal customer service, adopts new processes and tools, and helps manage the application pipeline and shared team responsibilities. The posting also describes additional responsibilities for Senior Credit Center Underwriters and Underwriting Managers. Senior underwriters may review escalated applications, help resolve conflicts, train less experienced underwriters, and take on special projects and broader department responsibilities. Underwriting Managers may perform similar duties, fill in for the department manager, lead direct reports, coach and develop staff, and help resolve disagreements between credit and production teams. Managers may have reduced CAM production targets and may travel to meet direct reports in person.
