About The Position

As a Portable Climate Solutions Setup Technician, you will be responsible for the safe delivery, loading, and unloading of equipment. You will provide professional installation and removal of equipment from customer jobsites, including Air Conditioning, Evaporative Cooling, Dehumidification, Heating, Air Purification, Remediation, and Ventilation. This role offers the opportunity to provide excellent customer service and solutions to our customers. A critical part of this role is keeping the equipment clean, organized, and green tagged, while maintaining high operational standards and reducing the risk of equipment damage. CRC Driver and Service Technicians champion Herc Rentals' core competencies, including providing "White Glove" service, becoming product experts, ensuring equipment readiness, and promoting a strong safety culture.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
1 year of work experience using mechanical/technical skills.
Basic Equipment knowledge and troubleshooting – HVAC, Evaporative Cooling, Dehumidification, Heating, Air Purification, Remediation and Ventilation.
Ability to lift to 40 pounds and continuously carry 5 pounds.
Valid driver’s license and ability to operate company vehicles.
Must be at least 21 years old.

Nice To Haves

CDL is a plus.
Skilled in the safe loading, unloading, installation, and removal of climate control equipment at customer sites.
Ability to maintain equipment cleanliness, organization, and readiness (green-tagged) to ensure high operational standards.
Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on delivering “White Glove” service and providing effective solutions to customer needs.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently with minimal supervision.
Proficient in using iPads, smartphones, laptops, and voice recognition tools for documentation and communication.
Clear and professional communication with customers, sales teams, and internal staff.
Capable of planning daily schedules, managing multiple tasks, and adapting to changing priorities.
Willingness to work overtime, be on call, and perform additional duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Plan daily delivery and pick-up schedules according to business needs.
Prepare all rental equipment and necessary materials for shipment.
Communicate professionally with customers, Sales, and internal resources, representing Herc Rentals.
Maintain tools and necessary supplies to successfully complete projects.
Use technology such as iPad, laptops, smartphones, and Interactive Voice Recognition to document projects, including daily notes, labor logs, progress reports, change orders, and all other necessary documentation.
Problem-solve and think outside the box independently.
Safely drive, load, and unload box trucks and vans.
Work overtime and be on call.
Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
Attend all Herc and manufacturer-led training as directed.
