About The Position
Fabricate wooden crates and ships screen printing equipment. This role involves using various tools and equipment to construct crates, prepare materials, and ensure accurate packing and labeling of screen printing equipment for shipment. The position requires physical stamina and the ability to operate a forklift.
Requirements
- Stand for 8-10 hours per day
- Climb rolling ladders to complete construction of crates
- Lift up to 50 pounds
- Obtain company certification for forklift operation
- Ability to drive a forklift
Responsibilities
- Fabricate wooden crates using saws and pneumatic tools to crate screen printing equipment.
- Read shipping and order specifications and record necessary information.
- Follow layout instructions to prepare necessary wood to complete each job.
- Saw material using automatic cutoff saws.
- Assemble base of crate using pneumatic tools and cordless power tools.
- Place product on base using forklift.
- Bolt heavy pieces to the bottom of the container or skid.
- Wraps equipment in plastic as needed.
- Builds crate around large or odd-shaped articles.
- Attach identification labels or stencils containing such information as order number and country of destination.
- Count items to be packed to make sure compliance with shipping orders.
- Use a forklift to move completed equipment from assembly departments to the crating department.
- Assist shipping department with loading trucks as needed.
