Amentum is seeking a Crane Maintenance Technician III to join our industrial maintenance team in Davenport, IA. Typical hours are Monday-Friday, 2nd shift, with potential for overtime and varying hours based on customer demand. Requirements

  • 3 years of experience troubleshooting cranes and hoists OR 1 year of mechanical experience along with a tech school Industrial maintenance or related facility maintenance discipline.
  • Must be able to obtain crane certification (training will be supplied).
  • Must have the ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher (training will be supplied).
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Must be willing to travel locally up to 50% of the time.
  • Must be able to lift or carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for prolonged/extensive amounts of time.
  • Must be able to use a ladder or lift and work on structures or equipment above ground level.
  • Must be able to work in cramped or uncomfortable places and positions.
  • Must be able to push, pull, or lift heavy equipment, supplies, or parts.
  • Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.
  • Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.
  • Requires the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift.
  • Requires the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.
  • Requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.
  • Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.
  • Requires the use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.
  • Requires the ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.
  • Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.
  • Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
  • Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Responds to work orders, troubleshooting, and providing preventive and corrective maintenance on facility hoists, cranes, and other mechanical equipment and systems in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and wearing PPE as required.
  • Identifies and corrects any safety-related issues and performs independent equipment evaluations to identify potential equipment failures.
  • Performs general maintenance of equipment.
  • Works in environments 6 to 30 ft above ground.
  • Travels to other sites when required (in the local Moline, Davenport, or QC area).
