About The Position

A Crane Technician is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing crane systems to ensure the safe and reliable operation of equipment.

Requirements

  • Relevant training and certification from accredited institution
  • Minimum 5 years of crane/hoist experience, preferably in industrial environments
  • Experience installing and maintaining cranes of all types
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of overhead crane systems, PLCs, and industrial equipment maintenance
  • Ability to perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities
  • Experience conducting inspections, testing, and equipment diagnostics
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance
  • Strong documentation, planning, and organizational skills
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to prioritize work and minimize equipment downtime
  • Experience operating cranes, hoists, forklifts, and material handling equipment as required

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on overhead cranes, electrical systems, PLC systems, and other equipment components
  • Repair, replace, and inspect worn parts
  • Adjust, maintain, repair, or replace subassemblies (e.g., hoist, brakes, control systems) using appropriate tools and equipment
  • Rework overhead cranes to ensure optimal operating conditions and efficiency
  • Diagnose faults and malfunctions using engine diagnostic tools, including computerized test equipment and calibration devices
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems to determine required repairs
  • Inspect cranes and other equipment to identify defects and performance issues
  • Test equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturer specifications
  • Perform routine maintenance, complete periodic inspections, and update required documentation
  • Examine parts for damage or excessive wear using precision tools such as micrometers and gauges
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance on cranes and related equipment
  • Ensure all equipment is properly maintained in accordance with company and safety standards
  • Operate cranes to assist with diagnostics and functional testing
  • Operate hoists, forklifts, and hand trucks to handle, dismantle, and reassemble heavy materials and equipment
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and equipment service documentation
  • Read and interpret operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings
  • Coordinate maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime
  • Work with project supervision to assess equipment needs and coordinate repairs
  • Ensure maintenance activities align with operational and project demands
