About The Position

Austin Commercial is seeking a Crane Superintendent to join our Houston, TX division. This position is responsible for ensuring that all company hoisting policies and procedures are enforced in the field while providing continuous support to the projects. The role involves assisting the senior most crane superintendent in consulting with the project team on all hoisting equipment mobilizations, jumps, and demobilizations. This position also leads hoisting pre-construction coordination meetings when assigned. Austin Commercial is a 100% employee-owned company with a strong commitment to safety, service, and integrity.

Requirements

  • Supervise Crane Foremen and Crane Operators.
  • Assist the senior most crane superintendent in Crane/Hoisting planning, safety, operations.
  • Assist the senior most crane superintendent in Crane/Hoisting utilization, maintenance and repairs.
  • Complete required crane reporting including Daily report of hoisting activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies & procedures.
  • Assist the senior most crane superintendent in recruitment and training of crane operators.
  • Assist the senior most superintendent on identifying crane/hoisting needs for projects.
  • Review drawings to assist in the selection of efficient, safe and cost effective hoisting plan(s).
  • Assist in scheduling pre-con coordination meetings with vendors and project team in advance of erecting/jumping/demobilization activities.
  • Responsible for safety on hoisting activities for all projects.
  • Assist the senior most superintendent in overseeing critical lift planning meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with all governmental safety programs and company initiatives.
  • Ensure annual crane and hoist inspections, wire rope inspections and replacement parameters are followed.
  • Ensure crane and safety training is completed and documented as needed.
  • Assist the senior most superintendent with ongoing safety initiatives including the timely completion of NCCCO certifications for all operators.
  • Works closely with the senior most superintend and safety department on safety initiatives.
  • Ensures that the crane/hoisting needs of the field are met in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Responsible for keeping all cranes maintained and repaired in accordance with Company Policy.
  • Ensures that good communication is achieved with service department personnel on setting priorities on all needed repairs/inspections/services.
  • Assist the senior most superintendent in maintaining accurate records and required reporting on crane, man and material hoisting activities.
  • Ensures compliance with all corporate and division policies and procedures as it relates to hoisting operations in the field.
