About The Position

Southland Holdings is seeking an experienced Crane Operator to join their team on a large roadway project in Green Cove Springs, FL. The role requires safe operation of a crane, handling and moving materials, and maintaining daily logs of equipment usage and maintenance. The operator will also be responsible for identifying and reporting hazards, adhering to health, safety, and environmental rules, and reading locate sheets to identify potential underground and overhead utilities.

Requirements

5 Years of experience
Required license or certification: NCCCO certifications required. (One for Lattice Boom Crawler (LBC) and a certification for a grove (telescoping RT/Taxi crane))
Must be physically capable of navigating rugged terrain for the purpose of performing the duties outlined above.
Must work in all weather conditions and be prepared for both extreme heat and cold
Knowledge of sub-base materials and aggregation placement and compaction
Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures including but not limited to backing up procedures, use of flagmen and spotters, signage, incident reporting, required personal safety equipment and lifting of heavy loads
Knowledge of underground and overhead services and articulation
Knowledge of the excavator/backhoe loading requirements; load charts; critical picks-Exceptional attendance record
Must pass post offer drug screen
