About The Position

Turner Industries Group is hiring a Certified Crane Operator in the Decatur, Alabama area. The operator runs power-driven and hydraulic machinery to move materials and provides crane lifting and rigging support, along with equipment preventative maintenance and inspection. The position includes operating an overhead crane from a cab and moving spools through receiving, shop, staging, coatings, and shipping areas. The employee must maintain awareness of the work area, follow safe work practices, and keep the work environment clean and safe.

Requirements

NCCER/NCCCO certification.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Pre-employment qualification test if applicable.
Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
Hazard Communication orientation/test.
Completion of Turner Industries Group LLC Indoctrination.

Nice To Haves

Preferably one to two years of experience in the specified skill.

Responsibilities

Read and sign off on JSA.
Operate an overhead crane from a cab.
Receive verbal instructions about where the crane is needed to move spools throughout receiving, shop, staging, coatings, and shipping areas.
Use hand levers to control crane functions.
Perform daily crane inspections and report unsatisfactory findings to the foreman.
Read and interpret load charts.
Understand and use hand signals to communicate with employees in the work area.
Provide crane lifting and rigging support.
Perform equipment preventative maintenance and inspection.
Stay alert and aware of surroundings, and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
