About The Position

The Crane Operator rides in and operates a ten-ton bridge crane. Using a magnet, the operator loads the pre-heat conveyors for plant one and plant two and communicates with the furnace operator to ensure the proper charge make up. The operator also moves and sorts loads of casting returns and purchased steel scrap. This is not an all-inclusive list of job duties.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to see and pass an eye test, as required for Crane Operators.
• Ability to climb two flights of stairs.
• Ability to work more than 15 feet in the air while operating the crane.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently, or occasionally more.
• Ability to work in high-heat environments and around molten metal.
• Ability to understand and follow all safety procedures and requirements.
• Ability to work weekends.
