Job Responsibilities: Job Overview The Crane Trainer is responsible for safely and efficiently performing advanced die setting operations, supporting crane-related activities, and serving as a certified crane trainer. This role ensures production readiness through proper die installation, equipment availability, labeling accuracy, and adherence to safety, quality, and productivity standards in alignment with Kamtek and Magna policies.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated proficiency in advanced die setting and crane operations.
  • Ability to successfully complete all required hands-on/practical and written assessments.
  • Strong understanding of safety standards, tooling requirements, and production processes.
  • OSHA Level 3 – Train-the-Trainer certification.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain and maintain Kamtek Crane Trainer Certification.
  • Ensure all required tooling and equipment (including steel rules, T-bolts, and QDC pins) are available, properly maintained, and in safe working condition.
  • Independently operate tooling cranes to safely remove, flip, and install upper dies without assistance.
  • Perform complete die setups on all production lines, including coil-fed lines, without supervision.
  • Select and apply correct keys for accurate die setup; identify deficiencies and communicate required tooling modifications when guides or keys are insufficient or absent.
  • Meet or exceed standard die set times: Tandem Lines: 90 minutes Progressive/Transfer Lines: 45 minutes
  • Ensure all new and current production dies are properly labeled, including job number, flow direction, and QDC pin hole placement.
  • Provide on-site support to contractors, maintenance, and tooling teams during equipment installations, modifications, and repairs.
  • Work effectively in a team environment while also demonstrating the ability to perform independently with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain flexibility to work extended or varied hours based on operational needs.
