About The Position

Turner Industries is seeking a Crane Operator with NCCER or NCCCO certification for a position in the Lake Charles, LA area. The Operator position operates various power-driven machinery used to move dirt or other materials. May operate all or some of the following types of equipment: backhoe, bulldozer, crane, dragline, front-end loader, motor grader, cherry picker, dump truck, etc. This is a non-exempt role and reports to the Foreman or Site Manager. Assigned duties are according to specific procedures and work is checked frequently.

Requirements

High school or equivalent
NCCCO or NCCER certification is required
Knowledge of current rigging inspection color codes
Post offer drug / alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the company Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy
Comply with company and client job site safety requirements
Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

Responsibilities

Operates various power-driven machinery used to move dirt or other materials.
Interprets hand signals to determine where materials are to be placed.
Reads and interprets load charts.
May assemble or disassemble equipment or material on construction projects.
May be required to manipulate equipment on un-level working surfaces.
May perform maintenance duties such as cleaning, greasing and oiling machines/equipment.
Ensures all rigging has proper inspection and color codes.
Performs additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
