About The Position

This position involves observing load hookup and determining the safety of the load. The Crane Operator manipulates crane controls, such as pedals, levers, and buttons, to regulate the speed and direction of crane and hoist movement based on written, verbal, or signal instructions. Responsibilities also include cleaning and maintaining the crane and hoisting mechanism, inspecting the crane for defective parts, and notifying the supervisor of any defects or malfunctions. The operator may also be required to attach the load to the hook or other crane accessory prior to operation. This description outlines the general nature and level of work, and personnel may be required to perform other duties as needed.

Requirements

• Must be able to stand, kneel, walk, lift, bend, stoop, push and pull for long periods of time
• Must be able to work on average ten (10) hours per day, five days (and occasionally six days) per week
• All work is performed outdoors in Florida heat and rain; and around heavy highway traffic areas
