About The Position

TIC is looking for a crane operator for their project in Seminole, TX. This is a skilled position where the operator will be responsible for operating a crane to lift and move materials, planning all lifts with a focus on safety, performing inspections, and responding to commands from the rigger or helpers. The role requires observing loads, reading indicators, estimating, and inspecting work for compliance. The position is in a construction environment and may involve irregular hours, working at heights, in confined spaces, and in noisy, dusty conditions. The operator must be able to move items up to 50 pounds and possess the required tools.

Requirements

  • Constantly move about a construction/industrial site, so should be able to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl
  • Constantly works in a construction environment and will be exposed to changing outdoor weather conditions
  • Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime and holidays as required
  • May be required to use ladders/mechanical platforms/manlifts/scaffold to access required equipment/work areas (may exceed 200 feet), so must be able to climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders and scaffolds
  • Move and work in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven surfaces
  • Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment
  • May be required/able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across construction/industrial site
  • Must have required tools
  • NCCCO or equvilent required

Responsibilities

  • Operate crane to lift and move materials and other objects.
  • Plan all lifts and take complete charge of all safety pertaining to set up and knockdown, operation of crane and proper use of capacity charts.
  • Perform rigging inspection and daily equipment inspection.
  • Respond accordingly to both hand and verbal commands from rigger or helpers.
  • Observe the travel of all loads and take appropriate action to avoid injury to personnel or damage to property.
  • Read boom angle and drum rotation indicators.
  • Estimating sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity.
  • Inspect subordinate's work for compliance with the contract plans and specifications, point out deficiencies and explain and take any corrective action needed.
