About The Position

Bigge Crane and Rigging has been elevating America since 1916. This position is responsible for the repair, service, and maintenance of rough terrain, crawler, and mobile cranes, as well as a variety of forklifts. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in mechanical systems, including electrical, drivetrain, engines, hydraulics, and computer-controlled systems, and demonstrate a high level of expertise in equipment diagnostics and repairs.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience repairing and maintaining rough terrain, crawler, and mobile crane construction equipment; vocational training may be considered in lieu of experience
  • Perform annual certifications and inspections
  • Ability to perform tasks independently without direct supervision
  • Computer literate with the ability to process information
  • Strong work ethic with a commitment to quality
  • Knowledgeable in troubleshooting various equipment lines, including Manitowoc, Grove, Terex, Tadano, Broderson, Kobelco, and Liebherr cranes
  • A history of safe work habits
  • Hard worker with a great attitude
  • Must supply own hand tools and keep up-to-date tool inventory of service truck
  • Have a current valid driver's license along with a clean driving record
  • Ability to drive a company service truck. Must keep the truck clean and maintained

  • Higher education, including vocational training, is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Repairing and maintaining rough terrain, crawler, and mobile crane equipment as well as various types of forklifts, with a primary focus on the service and repair of said equipment
  • Must have a strong background in the electrical, drive train, engines, hydraulics, and computer-controlled systems
  • Has at least 3 - 5 years of experience in the mechanical diagnosing, repairing, and maintenance of mobile crane equipment
  • Will be able to work evenings and weekends for crane repairs in the shop
  • Must be capable of communicating effectively and professionally with supervisors and other personnel
  • Able to read schematics (both hydraulic and electrical)
  • Must be able to perform competent inspections of all cranes
  • Able to lift, up to 40 lbs
