About The Position

This position performs the maintenance and minor repairs of the company’s harbor mobile cranes. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requirements

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and operations of mobile harbor cranes and automobiles or heavy equipment.
  • Knowledge of methods, techniques, and procedures involved in maintenance repairs.
  • Effective analytical skills and the ability to identify problems quickly.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak basic English.
  • Must be able to accurately process alpha/numeric information.
  • The position requires a flexible schedule, including rotating overnight and day shifts, weekends, holidays, extended hours as needed.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision and strong initiative.
  • Posses organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, vendors and fellow employees.
  • Ability to think logically, follow procedures, instructions and make sound decisions.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC card within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the maintenance of the company’s harbor mobile cranes.
  • Assist with various diagnostics and repairs to the Liebherr cranes.
  • Assist in troubleshooting the harbor mobile cranes’ fuel, hydraulic and electrical systems, and diesel engines.
  • Perform routine checks prior to each crane being used for loading and unloading vessel operations.
  • Operate the cranes to transport them through the yard as needed for the vessel operations.
  • Maintain a clean work area, free of debris or safety hazards and maintain an awareness of surrounding (i.e. vehicles, equipment, etc.) at all times.
  • Assist with the maintenance and minor repairs to the company’s fleet.
  • Fix and/or replace lights on all vehicles and power industrial trucks.
  • Perform minor body work and finish to the fleet.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
