About The Position

The Springfield-Greene County Parks Department is seeking an independent, self-motivated, hard-working individual to join our team as a Craftsworker. This position is responsible for performing skilled and semi-skilled craftswork in the construction, maintenance, and/or repair of various city and county parks and facilities. These include golf courses, fitness centers, pools, Cooper Tennis Complex, and more. For this position, we are seeking a candidate with knowledge and experience in equipment maintenance, pool cleaning and water management, safety and regulatory compliance, record keeping, and troubleshooting and repairs. This position is specific to Parks and does not include responsibilities within the Airport, Environmental Services, or Public Works departments.

Requirements

• A minimum of three years responsible experience in construction or maintenance craftswork of which at least one year has been at a skilled level in one or more of the following areas: concrete, welding, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and/or mechanical.
• Experience must be commensurate with craft specialty required for current vacancy.
• Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator's License.
• Must obtain and maintain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate class and endorsements within probationary period for all assignments except the Dickerson Park Zoo.
• ATSSA Supervisory Work Zone Certification within the first 12 months for Public Works assignments.
• Proof of United States Citizenship/Authorization to Work in the United States as established by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986 is a condition of employment.
• Pre-employment drug testing is required.
