About The Position

Craft Cocktail Bartenders at Vantage Rooftop Bar, located within The Karol Hotel in Clearwater, FL, are responsible for ensuring exceptional service to all guests, consistent with Marriott's Tribute Portfolio Standards. This role involves curating the guest's bar experience through recommendations and providing excellent service. The bartender will serve guests efficiently and courteously, following proper steps of service, and must have knowledge of all beverages, including liquors and wines, and proper cocktail making techniques as trained by Marriott standards. The position requires the ability to pair wines with meals and an understanding that the bar serves the full menu, including full-coursed or shared meals. Light food running may be required, and the ability to carry warm or hot plates is necessary. The bartender must be knowledgeable about all menu items, including prep time, preparations, sauces, allergies, and accompaniments. They will collect payments, follow TIPS practices for responsible alcohol serving, and be aware of specials and inventory levels. The role involves maintaining the bar area, cleaning glasses, utensils, and bar equipment according to Marriott safety procedures, and performing other duties as requested by management. A key aspect of the role is ensuring successful guest experiences and high scores on Marriott's Guest Satisfaction Survey.

Requirements

High School diploma or higher
Previous hospitality experience required
Minimum two-year bartending experience in high volume bar or restaurant in greater Tampa Bay area
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to use technology e.g. tablets, iPads
Knowledge of all beverages to include liquors and wines
Knowledge of proper cocktail making, as trained by Karol Management via Marriott standards
Ability to pair wines with meals
Understanding that bar serves full menu and must be prepared as much to server full coursed or shared meals to guests
Follow TIPS practices to ensure safe and responsible serving of alcohol per Marriott and hotel procedures
Follow cash handling procedures, and must be able to explain shortages and overages
Ability to handle station, or when situations arise, ability to let manager/supervisor know ahead of time so as not to affect the guest experience
