About The Position

Cavalier Distributing is seeking a self-starter with a passion for craft beer, wine, and other beverages to join their team as a Craft Beverage Sales Representative. This is an outside sales position where you will spend 40 hours per week in your assigned territory, working independently to achieve sales goals. You will be responsible for the successful sales, distribution, and placement of Cavalier's product portfolio across new and existing retail accounts. The territory for this position is Columbus West south to Washington Courthouse. This role offers the opportunity to own your territory, build relationships, and directly control your earnings, with compensation heavily weighted towards performance.

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of the craft beer and beverage industry.
  • Excellent customer relations and communication skills.
  • Valid, unexpired driver’s license and a clean DMV record with reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to apply for and obtain a solicitor’s license with the state.
  • Ability to handle product generally weighing 0 - 55 pounds, including bending and stooping as needed for product rotation and merchandising.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow relationships with existing accounts.
  • Proactively develop new business and foster strong, long-lasting relationships with customers.
  • Manage your own day, regularly visiting accounts, and becoming a trusted authority on craft beverages in your area.
  • Focus on selling and expanding product lines, ensuring all Cavalier products are successfully placed and maintained.
  • Host beer tastings, dinners, and promotions to drive enthusiasm and sales.
  • Handle all aspects of the sales cycle, including preparing quotes, executing monthly goals, ensuring excellent customer service, and timely collections.
  • Assist with seasonal product displays, store resets, and represent Cavalier at special events and festivals (occasional evenings/weekends required).
