About The Position

The Social Worker is a leadership position within the Community Residence partnering with the Residential Program Manager, Senior Counselors, Recreational Specialist, Case Manager and Nurse. As a collective, the co-leadership team is responsible for the oversight of the health, wellness, and care of youth in the program. Knowledge of childhood trauma and the impacts is paramount. The Social Worker will identify and assess client and family needs and evaluate, coordinate, and provide necessary services and/or treatment. They will also provide in-home supportive counseling services to residents and families, complete required assessments, and assist individuals and families by helping to articulate goals and providing needed information. Overall, the Social Worker contributes to the Glove House high performance culture by exhibiting our values and providing quality results that keep Glove House as the premier provider of child, family, and behavioral health solutions. The Social Worker is directly accountable to the Residential Program Manager. Critical features of this job are described under headings below. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work required, with NYS Licensure as a LMSW within 6 months of employment.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and driving record in accordance with agency standards.
  • Minimum experience 2+ years of working with children and families, child welfare, mental hygiene or the criminal justice system.
  • Knowledge of Community resources, TCI Principles, Trauma Informed Care Practices, State and Federal regulations
  • Perform under strong demands in fast-paced, diverse environment.
  • Handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Perform at a high level of autonomy, with minimal supervision.
  • Work on multiple tasks, while maintaining a high attention to detail, accuracy, and quality
  • Commit to effectively and efficiently providing high levels of customer satisfaction with positive service delivery results.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Behavioral Health Overlay Services (BHOS) interventions under the supervision of a licensed clinician while upholding the Glove House Standard of Care.
  • Develop and maintain clinical records and program documentation, such as assessments, treatment plans, progress notes and discharge summaries, according to contract and Glove House standards.
