This residency program offers the student at least 15 hours per week in formal supervised training and study at a graduate level and 30-35 hours each week in clinical responsibility meeting the clinical care needs in a practical setting of learning by doing the work of the chaplain. This residency provides the student hands-on opportunities to offer spiritual care to patients, families, staff and visitors. The resident is expected to demonstrate their growing competence as an interfaith resource and assist in family conferences and staff needs. The resident must have the capacity and interest in thrive under the expectations and standards of the national ACPE program.
