About The Position

The Coverage Behavior Technician (CBT) is a year-round floating support position that provides coverage and operational support across Intercare’s School Services and Behavioral Health programs. CBTs are deployed where support is needed most and may work across multiple schools, districts, centers, clients, and programs throughout the year to help ensure continuity of care. In addition to providing direct intervention services, CBTs support staffing needs, onboarding initiatives, peer mentorship, and operational projects during periods of lower coverage demand. This dynamic role offers consistent hours, diverse experiences, and opportunities to make a meaningful impact across multiple teams and service environments.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of behavioral intervention, ABA, special education, or related experience
  • Knowledge of ABA principles and behavioral intervention methodologies
  • CPI certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently across multiple service settings
  • Experience supporting school-based clients preferred
  • Ability to navigate multiple technology platforms and documentation systems
  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability
  • Ability to travel up to 15 miles one-way within the assigned region
  • Reliable transportation required

Responsibilities

  • Implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
  • Provide individualized behavioral intervention support
  • Utilize Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) methodologies
  • Support students through instructional and non-instructional activities
  • Facilitate participation in classroom, recreational, and community-based activities
  • Utilize CPI and approved crisis management procedures when necessary
  • Collect behavioral data and complete required documentation
  • Provide direct intervention services in Intercare Centers and home-based settings
  • Serve as a Peer Support Partner for newly assigned BIs
  • Conduct structured outreach and onboarding support activities
  • Facilitate brief Teams check-ins and peer support meetings
  • Provide guidance related to: Coverage expectations, School system documentation, CR appointment conversion, Operational processes and workflows
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with supervisors, clinical teams, school personnel, and staff
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, FERPA, and organizational requirements
  • Attend required trainings, staff meetings, and professional development activities
  • Follow scheduling and documentation requirements
  • Demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, and responsiveness across multiple service environments
