About The Position

A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Brentwood is seeking a confident and reliable Cover Supervisor to join their supportive team. This role would be particularly well suited to a Graduate, Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or aspiring teacher looking to gain valuable hands-on experience working with young people in a secondary school environment. As a Cover Supervisor in Brentwood, you will supervise classes across a range of subjects in the absence of the regular classroom teacher, deliver pre-prepared lesson materials, and ensure students remain engaged with their learning. You will also manage classroom behaviour, maintain a calm and positive learning environment, and support students in completing assigned work. The role involves establishing positive and professional relationships with students, following school policies and procedures, and providing feedback to teaching staff on student engagement, behaviour, and progress. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about education who wants to gain meaningful experience within a secondary school setting. Working as a Cover Supervisor provides valuable experience for graduates considering future careers in secondary teaching, education, educational psychology, SEN, child and adolescent mental health, behavioural or pastoral support, and youth work.
