About The Position

The Cove Kids Intern will live out the mission of The Cove Church by sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ, investing in and building relationships with both kids and adults, and mobilizing the mission of the church into the community. This role involves creating and maintaining a welcoming experience on campus to help introduce friends to Jesus, learn to follow Him, and celebrate His presence in their lives. The intern will assist in overseeing all aspects of Cove Kids (6 weeks - 5th grade, welcome team, safety team), with a primary focus on preschool. Key responsibilities include ensuring proper team member to child ratios, recruiting, training, and equipping team members, preparing for weekend services, and developing relationships across the campus. The role also involves promoting participation in the Five Habits (Life Groups, serving teams, weekend service attendance, daily quiet time and giving), receiving mentorship to grow in ministry leadership, communication, and organizational skills, and partnering with parents by observing conversations, sharing resources, and supporting engagement strategies. Personal responsibilities include living a life worthy of the calling as taught in Ephesians 4, embodying the mission, values, and 5 Habits of The Cove Church, adhering to the Ministry Policy Manual and Staff Handbook, and faithfully tithing at least 10% of personal income to God’s work through The Cove Church.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in overseeing all aspects of Cove Kids (6 weeks - 5th grade, welcome team, safety team), with a primary focus on preschool.
  • Ensure proper ratios of team members to children are maintained in Cove Kids.
  • Recruit, train, and equip team members for Cove Kids.
  • Attend all Cove Kids meetings and ensure Cove Kids is prepared for weekend services (material, scheduling, etc.).
  • Develop and build relationships not only within Cove Kids but the entire campus.
  • Promote and encourage participation in the Five Habits (Life Groups, serving teams, weekend service attendance, daily quiet time and giving).
  • Receive mentorship and regular feedback to grow in ministry leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Learn how to partner with parents by observing conversations, helping share weekly take-home resources, and supporting parent engagement strategies.
  • Live a life worthy of the calling as taught in Ephesians 4.
  • Live the Mission of The Cove Church, Values, and 5 Habits.
  • Adhere to and encompass the qualities and characteristics required of The Cove Church employees, as defined by The Ministry Policy Manual and Staff Handbook.
  • Faithfully tithing consistently at least 10% of all personal income to God’s work through The Cove Church.
