General Purpose: In order to ensure an engaging, safe and empowering customer experience at Stride CHC sites, the Courtesy and Safety Advocate openly interacts with all clinic visitors and staff. This position will ensure the standards of cleanliness, maintenance of buildings and grounds, safety, and security. Perform tasks that maintain a safe, patient centered and secure environment for staff and the public. This position is responsible for the overall safety of the environment by utilizing hospitality, communication, problem solving, and crisis intervention techniques to anticipate visitor’s needs. This position uses a proactive approach in performing their duties, helping to eliminate potential problems well before they ever surface.

Requirements

  • Required: High school diploma or GED.
  • Required: Must have or obtain CPR Certification within 60 days of hire.
  • Required: Must be 21 years of age.
  • Ability to interact positively and build rapport with patients, coworkers and/or external contacts.
  • Ability to examine characteristics of problems and identify individual and system-level solutions to implement.
  • Ability to work independently and organize work in a manner that ensures accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ability to follow all traffic laws, maintenance of a valid driver’s license and auto insurance preferred. Must have dependable personal vehicle or form of transportation required for transportation between site locations.
  • Ability to apply defense tactics, non-verbal communication skills and crisis intervention skills (training to be provided by Stride) to mitigate, diffuse and/or control instances of escalated anxiety and unrest.
  • Customer service and hospitality skills, including the ability to anticipate patient needs.
  • Skill in using a variety of computer software including but not limited to the internet and MS Office Products.
  • Attention to detail must be followed at all times.
  • Ability to handle and protect sensitive information ethically and responsibly.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions quickly.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, OT and Saturdays.
  • Ability to follow instructions on safe use of all hazardous equipment and chemicals.
  • Ability to perform tasks with the necessary equipment and appropriate tools in a safe and effective manner.
  • Must be in Stride Security Dress Code at all times.

Nice To Haves

  • Crisis intervention, defense tactics training experience preferred, but willing to train.
  • Possessing a valid Colorado driver’s license is preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Be a visible deterrent and provide a security presence for the interior and exterior of the building.
  • Perform perimeter walks at every clinic visited to ensure safety standards are compliant. This is to include general housekeeping, snow removal as a last resort for safety, and removing litter.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of interior clinics on a daily basis. Communicate with staff, community members, and supervisors to ensure a clean, healthy, and safe environment is maintained.
  • Identify suspicious behavior and concerns for patients and visitors. Implement most effective customer oriented solutions to remove barriers to a positive experience.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inspections to identify security and safety concerns.
  • Investigate and write reports on accidents, incidents, suspicious activities, and other related situations through the “Help Desk” ticket system.
  • Respond to various alarms and codes in accordance with organization protocols. Serve as a resource and subject authority to all staff regarding various response protocols.
  • Occasionally walk staff to their vehicles.
  • Perform closing clinic duties that will include but not be limited to: interior sweeps, walking staff members to their transportation, locking doors, and setting alarms.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • Attends all staff meetings and all other meetings as required.
