Our Courtesy Clerks are an essential part of the Hy-Vee experience, helping customers from the register all the way to their car and keeping the store clean, stocked, and welcoming for everyone who walks through the door. In this role, you'll package purchases, assist customers, maintain the store, and lend a hand wherever you are needed. Requirements

Follow detailed written or verbal instructions and work through tasks with a few concrete variables
Perform simple addition and subtraction, copy figures, and count and record accurately
Understand and follow verbal or demonstrated directions and communicate supply needs orally or in writing
Work effectively as part of a team to keep the store clean and customers happy

Responsibilities

Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile, learning their names, and going out of your way to make every visit a great one
Package customer purchases and assist customers in transporting them to their mode of transportation
Bring carts in from the parking lot and cart corrals throughout your shift
Clean registers, restrooms, the break room, and the backroom, and sweep and mop floors as needed
Clean the can redemption area and empty recycle bins where applicable
Stock, face, and rotate merchandise, clean shelves, understand shelf tags, and know the location of merchandise in the store and backroom
Pull product forward on shelves to maintain a full, organized appearance
Check prices on products as needed
Maintain front end supplies including paper and plastic bags, receipt paper, and other necessary items
Help train new courtesy clerks
Deliver product to customers and assist in all departments as requested within wage and hour guidelines
Shovel, salt, and sand walkways as needed
Work with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment
Assist in other areas of the store as needed and take on special projects as assigned
Maintain strict adherence to personal hygiene, dress standards, and all Hy-Vee policies and store guidelines
Report to work when scheduled and on time
