The Courtesy Clerk role involves providing excellent and friendly customer service by assisting customers, answering questions, and bagging groceries. It also includes maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the front end, restrooms, and parking lot, demonstrating an attitude of service to co-workers, and supporting safety, security, and sustainability programs. The position requires operating within the Company’s Core Values & Company Brand.

Requirements

Fierce appetite for providing outstanding customer service with a patient, level-headed and cool under pressure, positive attitude.
Ability to treat bagging groceries like a game of Tetris and create order out of a pile of boxes, bags & odd shaped items.
Enthusiasm for helping others, love being a part of a busy team, like switching tasks frequently and want to burn a load of calories while on the job.
Motivation to excel, ability to roll with the punches, and enjoy building relationships with a diverse group of people.
Commitment to work hard and self-discipline to carry out department tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
Clear communication, attentive listening, and comfort asking questions to determine the best solution.
Flexibility to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays.
At least 16 years old.
Physical ability to lift and carry 50lbs.
Excellent manual dexterity.
Ability to bend, stoop, twist, reach and stand for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

Providing excellent and friendly customer service by assisting customers, answering questions, and bagging groceries.
Maintaining the front end, restrooms, and parking lot so that they are clean, enticing, well-stocked & safe.
Demonstrating an attitude of service to co-workers by lending a hand and working cohesively.
Supporting and following all safety and security policies and sustainability programs.
Operating within the Company’s Core Values & Company Brand.
