About The Position

Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service and establish and maintain a safe, clean environment that encourages customers to return. The Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger bags groceries at checkout, helps customers with their purchases, maintains store and parking-lot cleanliness, and supports safe and welcoming store operations. The position also involves providing customer assistance, returning merchandise to shelves, gathering carts, and helping with seasonal merchandise.

Responsibilities

Bag groceries at checkout, striving to place at least five items in each bag while preventing damage.
Follow best practices when bagging items in reusable, plastic, and paper bags.
Assist in removing customers’ merchandise from the bottom of the bascart for checkout.
Offer to help customers load bags into their cars.
Perform basic shelf conditioning.
Inform customers of grocery specials.
Return merchandise to store shelves.
Gather bascarts and return them to designated areas.
Clean spills and collect and pick up trash inside the store and in the parking lot.
Clean all areas inside and outside the store.
Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise.
Learn the store layout, locate products, and conduct price checks for cashiers.
Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions or incidents, and notify store management.
Follow food safety regulations and guidelines.
Inspect equipment as part of preventive maintenance and report items needing repair to the appropriate department or store manager.
Help customers feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions about products sold in the department and throughout the store.
Comply with local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines.
Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment, manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively, and act honestly and with integrity regarding customer and business information.
Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve customer and business issues.
