About The Position

The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking a Court Services Supervisor 1 for the Criminal Division in the Hudson Vicinage. This role offers an opportunity to join a large team dedicated to upholding high standards of independence, integrity, fairness, and quality service. The work involves contributing to meaningful initiatives that impact the public, such as bail reform, marijuana decriminalization, and recovery court. Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • Three years of paraprofessional and/or professional experience.
  • One year of experience in case management, enforcement of court orders, and/or supervision, monitoring, and intervention of offenders.
  • Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience on a year-for-year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits.
  • An associate degree from an accredited college or university and two years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
  • A master’s degree from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of general experience.
  • A law degree from an approved American Bar Association law school may be substituted for two years of general experience.
  • Must agree to a thorough background check including fingerprinting.
  • Must establish and maintain principal residence in the State of New Jersey within one year of hiring, unless an exemption is granted.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, assign, coordinate, evaluate, review, and lead the work of a team.
  • Monitor a caseload and interact with Judges, staff, attorneys, and self-represented litigants to ensure efficient case processing and backlog reduction.
  • Develop statistical reports.
  • Oversee projects and report on case and project process.
  • Conduct formal work performance evaluations.
  • Mediate conflicts between team members.
  • Train staff.
  • Participate in meetings and training outside of the work unit.
  • Determine appropriate services for customers.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
  • Potentially work evenings, Saturdays, Sundays, and/or holidays.
