About The Position

Walden Security is recruiting experienced Court Security Officers (CSOs) to provide armed security to courthouses under the USMS contract. CSOs will perform a variety of duties to ensure the safety and security of court facilities, personnel, and proceedings.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • At least three (3) calendar years of verifiable experience as a certified law enforcement officer or its military equivalency (Master-at-Arms, CGPD, Security Forces Specialist, etc.), with all three years occurring within the last seven (7) years.
  • Experience must have included general arrest authority.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to understand, explain, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, directives, and procedures.
  • Valid driver's license from state of residency and a safe driving record for the past five years.
  • Must receive clearance from the Department of Justice.
  • Must have completed or graduated from a certified Federal, state, county, local or military law enforcement training academy and be able to provide certification as proof.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Must meet medical standards as specified by the United States Marshal Service (USMS).

Responsibilities

  • Perform entrance control, including operating security screening equipment and enforcing entry and identification systems.
  • Perform roving patrols of court facilities and grounds.
  • Stand guard at stationary posts, monitoring security equipment, courtrooms, judge chambers, and jury rooms.
  • Provide armed escort services for judges, court personnel, jurors, and other designated individuals when directed.
  • Direct traffic and control lights on court facility properties, where applicable.
  • Enforce federal law and detain individuals attempting unauthorized access or committing acts that imperil safety and security.
  • Prepare reports and records regarding contract performance, incidents, and unlawful acts.
  • Secure unattended courtrooms, inspect courtrooms prior to proceedings, and test security devices.
  • Provide security presence in the courtroom, enforce federal law and judicial orders, and enforce local court rules regarding prohibited items.
