We welcome all candidates who are inspired by our work and mission. The Linn County Circuit Court in Albany, Oregon, is hiring a Records Clerk (Court Operations Specialist) to join our team. In this role, you will start new cases, enter data into our automated case tracking system, and process a variety of reports. You will review files to determine next steps and forward them to judges, supervisors, and administrative authorities. You will accept and record documents, checking them for accuracy and completeness. You will also process orders, judgments, decrees, and other legal documents. You will help parties, attorneys, agencies, and the public use the court system by explaining policies and procedures. You will help customers use our public computer terminals. You will answer questions and correspondence related to the status of cases and the court calendar. You will also answer complex questions about case processing, dockets, and scheduling proceedings. You will spend part of your time helping the domestic relations team by providing customer service at the counter and over the phone. You will also be a backup cashier. Assigned tasks may be changed to accommodate workload and organizational needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Four (4) years of responsible administrative experience in a moderately complex office or business setting demonstrating the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for this position
  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to four (4) years of experience that typically supports the knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position
  • Experience performing a variety of clerical or administrative support tasks with strict deadlines in a busy business or professional setting
  • Experience using a computer and different software programs to accomplish a variety of tasks that include performing data entry, scheduling events in electronic calendars, and updating information
  • Experience providing customer service to a variety of individuals in challenging circumstances
  • Skill in writing and reviewing documents for accuracy and completeness
  • Experience identifying and safeguarding confidential information and materials

  • Bilingual skills (includes ASL) if you can pass a skills test and are assigned to use those skills on the job
