We welcome all candidates who are inspired by our work and mission . The Jackson County Circuit Court in Medford, Oregon, is hiring a Financial Services Cashier Clerk (Court Operations Clerk). In this role, you will answer questions about account balances, payments, hearings, and criminal case processes. You will calculate fee amounts, process payments, and balance your cash drawer. You will process court filings at the public service counter. You will schedule trials and court appearances. You will enter pleas and violations into the electronic case management system. You will perform data entry, prepare paperwork, and review court documents for accuracy and completeness. You will also prepare certified copies of court records. The support you provide will be over the phone, in person, and in writing. Additionally, you will conduct in-person interviews with people charged with crimes to determine if they are eligible for court appointed attorneys. When court appointed attorneys are assigned, you will update the case records. You will also interview defendants who are applying for payment plans, collect information about their households and finances, and provide them with information and documents. You will spend part of your time rotating duties with the court’s other cashier clerks. Assigned tasks may be changed to accommodate workload and organizational needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one (1) year of responsible clerical experience in a moderately complex office or business setting.
  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to one (1) year of experience that typically supports the knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
  • Experience with clerical or administrative support in a business or professional environment.
  • Experience using a variety of software programs to manage data and complete work.
  • Experience providing customer service to a variety of people in challenging circumstances.
  • Experience handling cash or credit card transactions and generating receipts.
